Hurray for the arrival of National Train Your Dog Month! This month you can find awesome inspiration online to help you to bond with your pet. Take a look by searching #nationaltrainyourdogmonth or by visiting and following our Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/caninecompassdogtraining/) for fun facts, training tips, games, and enrichment!

We highly recommend for pet owners to take advantage of this opportunity to gather ideas and to share what new things they are trying with their pet! Training your dog and giving them new games to figure out is such a fun and rewarding experience. Like with all training, set a goal for yourself. Goals like committing to 10 minutes a day for training or trying a new puzzle toy every week are great examples of ways for you to improve the life of your pet!

Don’t forget, whether you’re working on your dog’s behavior modification (such as barking at other dogs while on walks), or you’re trying to generalize their obedience commands, you can explore new parks and parts of Charlotte you haven’t seen before while meeting your training goals! We like to use Mecklenburg County’s parks and recreation website to keep track of which parks to visit.

Tag @CanineCompassDogTraining on Facebook or Instagram to share how you're training and enriching your dog, and we'll repost it!

Happy training!
